The 4 Wives

The 4 Wives

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to delicacies. He took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He's very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.

He too, loved his 2nd wife. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant's confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out and tide him through difficult times.

Now, the merchant's 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, "Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I'll be alone. How lonely I'll be!"

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No way!" replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant's heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I'm dying, will you follow me and keep me company?" "No!" replied the 3rd wife. "Life is so good over here! I'm going to remarry when you die!" The merchant's heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, "I always turned to you for help and you've always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?" "I'm sorry, I can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the very most, I can only send you to your grave." The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out : "I'll leave with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go." The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, "I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !"

Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives

a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it'll leave us when we die.

b. Our 3rd wife ? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.

c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we're alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure.

Guess what? It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it's a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we're on our deathbed to lament

Secret The Movie

Secret - The Movie

Ever wonder how successful people achieve their goals with such ease? Whether we are gauging success financially or by the result of skill such as masterfully playing the guitar, successful people make it seem effortless! They are magnetic; they attract success! "The Secret" movie reveals that success is not a matter of chance. This movie shows us through a series of stories and examples of people today, and throughout history that have gained success in their lives through the simple and ageless principles expressed in The Secret.

You know, The Secret, really isn't a secret. It is more of a light shining on principles of success that we all know, but most people do not internalize and practice. All people decide their own future. Face it, we are where we are in life based on the decisions that we have made, right? So, our thoughts, how we think, that which we think of most, that which consumes our passions, will determine our future existence. This, my friends is the Law of Attraction. This whole movie is based on the power of thought attracting to you that which you think of most.

So, what are "The Laws of Attraction?" If, you dwell on worry that you are getting deeper into debt, you will most likely increase your debt. If on the other hand you dwell on solutions to eliminating debt and the actions others have taken to eliminate debt, you will most likely eliminate your debt! Sounds simple right? Once you start living this way, it is that simple! The power of attracting positive events in your life involves a thought process, visualization, and discipline.

Jack Canfield, author of Chicken Soup for the Soul, appears in The Secret and tells how "the power of attraction" lifted him from a low-paying job to wealth and fame! The Secret explains in plain yet convincing language how the power of attraction can make the difference between allowing negative thoughts to hold you back, or using positive thoughts to bring you financial success and personal fulfillment!

The movie The Secret shows how successful people use "the laws of attraction" to attain wealth and passion in their lives. This movie reveals methods to attract what you want in life and start you on a path of wanting to know more. This is one of the reasons for this movie; it is a teaser to get you moving to get more information from the authors of this movie and anyone else in the self-improvement industry. That is great marketing for self improvement products when we consider what positive change can happen for those that follow The Secret. As Wallace D. Wattles wrote over 100 years ago "thoughts become things." How true.

The Secret Movie is great to watch.

The Professor and the Jar

A Professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

So the Professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The Professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous "yes."

The Professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the space between the grains of sand.

"Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things--your family, your children, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions - things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else -the small stuff.

"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. "Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The Professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

Secret to Success.

Secret To Success

A young man asked Socrates the secret to success. Socrates told the young man to meet him near the river the next morning. They met. Socrates asked the young man to walk with him toward the river. When the water got up to their neck, Socrates took the young man by surprise and ducked him into the water. The boy struggled to get out but Socrates was strong and kept him there until the boy started turning blue. Socrates pulled his head out of the water and the first thing the young man did was to gasp and take a deep breath of air. Socrates asked, 'What did you want the most when you were there?" The boy replied, "Air." Socrates said, "That is the secret to success. When you want success as badly as you wanted the air, then you will get it." There is no other secret.

A burning desire is the starting point of all accomplishment. Just like a small fire cannot give much heat, a weak desire cannot produce great results.

WARREN MACDONALD - The Man who defied death against all odds.

Warren Macdonald became trapped beneath a one tonne slab of rock while climbing Queensland's Hinchcliffe Island. Two days later he was rescued only to have both legs were amputated. Ten months later he climbed Tasmania's Cradle Mountain using a modified wheelchair and the seat of his pants. In 1999 he reached the summit of Federation Peak on an epic 4 week journey using a pair of prosthetic legs. He delivers a strong matter-of-fact message that has been called a wake up call for those feeling beaten, helping us put our own difficulties into perspective by showing us that the key to positive change is within us all if we want to find it.

Warren inspires audiences to believe in themselves, demonstrating through action that "nothing is impossible if we dare to face our fears and believe in ourselves." That achieving success requires taking positive steps forward, and that each step we take, no matter how small, moves us closer to our goals. Life Lessons from the movie 3 Idiots

Life Lessons from 3 Idiots.

- Do something which you are passionate about, don’t settle for what society or family thinks right for you. Follow your passion and dream. One day you will be more successful and happy.

- Only passion and interest will make you excel, not the field you choose.

- Make your hobby as profession. You will never regret.

- Believe in yourself. Do not worry about what others think about you.

- One should not study for getting a degree, but to learn and gain knowledge.

- Don’t accept the conventional way of working. There is always a better way to do things. Think Outside the box and innovate!

- Success should not be the end goal, excellence is! Strive for excellence in whatever you do, success will follow.

- Enjoy your life, live each moment to fullest. Have fun and make friends.

- Help others to reach their dreams. They will never forget you and will get down from a plane in air to meet you.

- Money is not going to define your success and happiness in life. Don’t take career decisions just based on the immediate salary you get, think long term.

- Communication is very important. Each word you utter has its importance. If a single word changes, the whole meaning will change.

- If you dont know what you are passionate about, ask your friends!

- Try to understand the stuff, not mug them up. Refer to the definition of a machine.

- You need to apply concepts not just understand them.

The Best Time Management Technique.

The Best Time Management Technique

Charles Schwab, President of Bethlehem Steel, and the same name you know today as one of the leading investment houses, paid Ivy Lee $25,000 for this time management techniques benefits over 100 years ago. If it was worth so much to Schwab, don’t you think its worth learning too?
I’m going to share this time management technique with you the same way I learned it….through a story.

Around 100 years ago, Charles Schwab, president of Bethlehem Steel, wanted to increase his own efficiency, and of the management team at the steel company. Ivy Lee, a well-known efficiency expert of the time, approached Mr. Schwab, and made a proposition Charles Schwab could not refuse:

Ivy Lee: “I can increase your people’s efficiency – and your sales – if you will allow me to spend fifteen minutes with each of your executives.”

Charles Schwab: “How much will it cost me?”

Ivy Lee: “Nothing, unless it works. After three months, you can send me a check for whatever you feel it’s worth to you.”

Charles Schwab: “It’s a deal.”

The following day, Ivy Lee met with Charles Schwab’s management executives, spending only ten minutes with each in order to tell them:

Ivy Lee: “I want you to promise me that for the next ninety days, before leaving your office at the end of the day, you will make a list of the six most important things you have to do the next day and number them in their order of importance.”

Astonished Executives: “That it?”

Ivy Lee: “That’s it. Scratch off each item after finishing it, and go on to the next one on your list. If something doesn’t get done, put it on the following day’s list.”

“Each Bethlehem executive consented to follow Lee’s instructions. Three months later, Schwab studied the results and was so pleased that he sent Lee a check for $25,000.

If Schwab, one of the smartest businessmen of his day, was willing to pay so much money for this advice, don’t you think you could benefit from it too?

Taking advantage of this time management techniques benefits is as simple as it gets…just 4 steps:

1.Each night, make a list of the top 6 things you want to accomplish the following day
2.Prioritize the list
3.Start working on task number one, and keep working on it until you complete it. Do not move onto the next task until you complete this one.
4.If any tasks are left at the end of the day, move them to the top of the next days list. For example, if you finish tasks 1-4 today, tasks 5 and 6 become tasks 1 and 2 on tomorrows list.
